    A frozen shoulder is also referred to as adhesive capsulitis and describes inflammation of the connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint. The inflammation then leads to pain and stiffness and an inability to move the shoulder. Normal range of movement is reduced and sometimes all movement can be stopped.

    It is important to avoid disuse of your affected arm as this can lead to muscle wastage in your forearm and hand.

    One of our specialist physiotherapists can assess you and perform special tests to diagnose frozen shoulder. Following assessment and diagnosis, your physiotherapist will create an individual treatment plan to help get your arm moving.
